Nathan Shi has been appointed interim executive chairman of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, pending the completion of all necessary legal, regulatory, and Premier League procedures. His appointment will take effect once these conditions are met.
In his new role, Nathan Shi will collaborate closely with technical director Matt Jackson, head coach Rob Edwards, and other senior management team members to provide strategic leadership and guide the club through its next phase of development. Nathan brings extensive experience in developing Fosun's core business segments, with a proven track record in project execution, operational management, and resource integration.
Jeff Shi has stepped down from his role as executive chairman of Wolves, but will remain as chairman and CEO of Fosun Sports Group, focusing solely on his non-operational duties. The board expresses its sincere gratitude to Jeff for his leadership and service over the past decade, during which Wolves made significant progress on and off the pitch. Simultaneously, the board has accelerated the process of identifying and appointing a permanent executive chairman for Wolves.
Jeff Shi expressed his sentiments: "I took the keys to this chair with humility; today, I step aside with a heart full of gratitude. It has been an honour and a privilege to work alongside our leadership team, players, coaches, staff, and, most importantly, our fans. Together, we have transformed the club into a global force, competing at the highest level. I want to thank Fosun and the board for their trust, and every supporter for making Molineux shine. My support for this club will never waver, and I fully back the new management team in their efforts to take Wolves to even greater heights."
Nathan Shi, reflecting on his appointment, said: "I am honoured and proud to join Wolverhampton Wanderers, a club with a rich history in English football and deep roots in the city. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead a club whose achievements are built on collective effort, from our players and coaching staff to our employees, supporters, the Wolverhampton Council, and the wider community. I am eager to work closely with all stakeholders to build a stronger future and help Wolves reach new heights. Together, as one pack, we will move forward with belief, pride, ambition, and unity."
This transition marks a significant moment for Wolves, as they continue to build upon their recent successes and strive for further growth and development.
